Kimberly McCarter

A native of New York City, Kim moved to Philadelphia, PA in her early childhood years where her family raised her to be a strong and independent woman.  Because of her sturdy upbringing, she found that putting her best foot forward and striving to make a difference in all endeavors would be monumental to her success.

Kim has always had an eye for plus size fashion and an interest in businesses that cater to providing a positive experience to the plus-size community.   Her uncanny ability to analyze data and her acute management skills provided her with the decision that her key role(s) for the plus-size community will be best behind the scenes.  Kim first tried her hand at the plus size industry when she co-founded The Curvy Spot, a fashion and nightlife blog for plus size women.  It was after its inception that opportunities in the industry began to peak her interest.  In the winter of 2009, Kim joined the editorial staff of SKORCH Magazine.  Having a stellar record in industry-wide event participation is only part of what makes Kim an asset.  She has prided herself on the continuous growth of her network by working with start-up and established brands to provide them with the assistance needed to accomplish their goals.

As a plus-size fashion blogger, Kim developed a branding strategy that allowed her to learn what it took to build her blog through the eyes of her readers. By taking the core techniques of business and the evolving use of social media, she was able to develop innovative strategies that uniquely sky rocket businesses through the social media platforms that consumers are using daily. Through sheer dedication, she is on a path of establishing herself in the world of social media mastery.   She is the founder and CEO of Born Social Plus LLC, a branding and social media management agency dedicated to moving beyond traditional social media consulting.  She is corporate motivator, social media coach, business foundation trainer & speaker.  Since joining the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc in 1998, Kim takes a strong sense of pride in her community service efforts.  She is a dedicated activist for the plus-size industry and body confidence coach.

Kim graduated from DeVry University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has over a decade of experience in high-level customer service and social interactions.  She currently resides in Northern New Jersey.
